Dr. Timothy Johnson is a highly trained periodontist with deep local roots and a long-standing commitment to delivering advanced periodontal and implant care. His approach emphasizes precision, safety, and collaboration—supporting predictable outcomes for patients and referring dentists alike.

Education & Advanced Training

Dr. Johnson received the American Academy of Periodontology’s Annual Student Award for Scholarship upon graduating from the University of Alabama at Birmingham in 1987. He then completed his periodontal specialty training at the University of Alabama, one of the nation’s leading dental research institutions, where he also held a joint appointment with the Veterans Administration Hospital.

In addition to his periodontal training, Dr. Johnson is one of a small number of periodontists nationwide to hold a degree in pharmacy, providing him with a uniquely broad understanding of medications, anesthesia considerations, and patient safety.

Implant & Surgical Expertise

Dr. Johnson has extensive experience across all aspects of dental implant therapy, including advanced soft- and hard-tissue surgical management for deficient ridges and the restoration of dental implants. His postgraduate education includes advanced curricula through the Nobel Biocare, Pikos, and Misch Implant Institutes, further supporting his commitment to evidence-based, contemporary care.

Clinical Philosophy

Dr. Johnson believes that both periodontal and implant treatment should be prosthetically driven, beginning with the restorative end in mind. He places strong emphasis on thoughtful planning, clear communication, and staying current with emerging dental advances—ensuring care that is not only effective, but safe and comfortable for every patient.

Raised in the Ocala area, Dr. Johnson has proudly served patients throughout Marion and Citrus Counties for more than 28 years. His work reflects a dedication to long-term patient relationships, collaborative care with referring dentists, and consistent clinical excellence.
