Full Mouth Dental Implants

A Permanent, Fixed Alternative to Dentures and Failing Teeth

For patients with extensive tooth loss, failing dentition, or poorly fitting dentures, full arch implant treatment offers a permanent, fixed alternative that restores full function and eliminates the limitations of removable prosthetics. Rather than replacing teeth one at a time, a full arch restoration uses four or more strategically placed implants to support a complete, custom prosthesis across the entire upper or lower jaw.

Dr. John Darby and Dr. Timothy Johnson place full mouth dental implants at offices in Ocala and Crystal River, FL, handling extractions, bone grafting, implant surgery, and sedation in one practice — so patients are not being coordinated between multiple providers throughout a complex treatment process.

How Full Arch Implant Treatment Works

Dental implants function as artificial tooth roots, anchoring into the jawbone and providing the stimulation needed to maintain bone density over time. For full arch cases, four or more implants are positioned along the jaw ridge based on available bone volume and the load requirements of the final prosthesis.

Surgery is performed in our office under appropriate sedation. Before leaving the same day, patients receive a temporary bridge so there is no period of going without teeth during healing. After the implant sites have integrated — typically one to six months depending on the case — the final custom prosthesis is placed. The permanent restoration restores close to full bite function and, unlike natural teeth, will not decay or stain over time.

Why Patients Choose Full Arch Implants

  • Permanently fixed — no removal, no adhesives, no movement
  • Preserves jawbone that would otherwise continue to resorb
  • Restores full chewing function without dietary restriction
  • Final prosthesis does not decay or stain
  • Same-day temporary teeth following surgery
  • Supports long-term oral and systemic health

Surgical Expertise and In-House Coordination

Dr. Darby and Dr. Johnson have both completed advanced implant training at the Pikos and Misch Institutes — two of the most respected implant surgery programs in the country. That training, combined with over 60 years of combined clinical experience, supports the level of case complexity that full arch treatment often requires.

We use advanced digital planning software and custom surgical guides to plan implant position with precision before the procedure begins, improving placement accuracy and reducing variables. All surgical phases — including any necessary tooth extractions and bone grafting — are managed within our practice. We coordinate directly with the restorative team to ensure the prosthetic phase proceeds efficiently once healing is confirmed.
